Addons - Print Export
Produce print-ready files (CMYK colour, 300 DPI) from a source image.
The Print Export addon converts an image to a professional prepress file in one of four formats — CMYK TIFF (lossless), CMYK JPEG, print PDF, or PDF/X-1a — using bundled ICC profiles for the RGB→CMYK separation. It can be triggered on-demand via the API below, or run automatically as part of the Automated Media Pipeline.
Print Export is a paid, per-plan quota-limited addon: each successful export counts against your plan's Print Export quota. An optional target print size can drive an AI upscale (charged in AI credits) when the source has fewer pixels than the target needs at the chosen DPI.
For the conceptual overview and limitations (colour accuracy, supported sources, sizing), see Export for Print and Print Export Limitations.
📄️ Export for Print (Asset)
Produce a print-ready CMYK file from an existing asset by asset ID. The original file for the given asset is downloaded and converted locally (RGB→CMYK at the requested DPI, default 300) using the selected ICC profile.
📄️ Export for Print (Asset + Upload)
Produce a print-ready CMYK file from an uploaded image, using the `{asset_id}` in the path as the target asset for conversions or as the source for metadata inheritance.
📄️ Export for Print (Upload)
Produce a print-ready CMYK file from an uploaded image (no asset ID in path). Use `image` as the multipart-form field name for the uploaded file.
📄️ Limitations
The FileSpin Print Export addon converts images to print-ready CMYK files (TIFF, CMYK JPEG, print PDF, PDF/X-1a) using bundled ICC profiles. It produces a faithful, standards-based RGB→CMYK separation, but colour reproduction in print is governed by physics and workflow, not software alone. Developers should be aware of the following.
