Revert Custom Thumbnail

/api/v1/assets/:asset_id/thumbnail/delete

Discard a custom thumbnail uploaded with Upload Custom Thumbnail and go back to the automatically generated one.

Clears the user-provided marker and regenerates the thumbnail from the asset's current original. Safe to call on an asset that never had a custom thumbnail.

HTTP REQUEST​

No request body. POST is used for the revert (mirroring Delete Conversion); DELETE on the same URL behaves identically.

HTTP RESPONSE​

Returns 202 — the revert is processed asynchronously. Poll Get Data until addons_info.ON_DEMAND_IMAGE.user_provided becomes false and the automatic thumbnail is available again.

Existing ODI URLs can keep showing the previous thumbnail for a while because of CDN and browser caching. Add the new version to the URL as v to show it straight away: see Showing an updated thumbnail.
