Removes background from an image. This API uses Machine Learning based algorithm to remove the background from an image.
The API can be used to remove the background from an image and replace it with transparency.
This API supports HTTP GET and HTTP POST
- Use HTTP GET to automatically use the original file for an ASSET_ID
- Use HTTP POST to send the image as
multipart/form-data
Using Background Remove at Filespin Dashboard
FileSpin Dashboard provides Asset Detail view of image assets. Background removal can be done in Asset Details view if the addon is enabled for the account.
The background remal in Dashboard provides options to Save as new asset, Add as Conversion, Download, etc.
If Save As New Asset is selected, the newly created asset with the RBG output will have a built-in metadata field _filespin_source_id which will contain the asset id of the source image on which Remove Background operation was done.
